Getting Ready for the UBIC Parade

Tom came up with this crazy idea about a pop can flag to hang from his forklift for the parade to promote our business. At first I really made fun of him. I thought that it just wouldn't turn out and that everyone would think that we were just a bunch of rednecks. Furthermore, I didn't like the fact that we would have to buy most of the pop just to have it ruined.

Tom got his uncles, who love to drink Dr. Pepper to help us out. They would drink the pop and save the cans for us. We still ended up buying about 1100 cans of pop for this silly flag. By the way, I did convince Tom to at least cut the flag down to 1/2 the original size he was planning on. When we were building this flag Tom did feel greatful that I had convinced him to do that.

Tom's Family came and offered a lot of help and support in the building process of the flag. (Thanks so much!!) We started dumping out some of the pop in the morning because we did the calculating on the flag.. it would have weighed 950 pounds so we decided that we would have to dump some of the pop so that it wouldn't be so heavy. Kolby and Kevin helped dump out some of the pop and had a great time. They were building volcanos and all sorts of stuff that boys build in the mud and rocks. We had to put a stop to that after realizing that each can that Kevin took he drank a few drinks before dumping. haha. He really doesn't do that well on sugar. He stops eating and just craves it..so we decided it was best that they no longer had so much fun!! We finished putting the last cans on the flag around 11:00 that evening.

Here are some pictures of the finished product and us getting ready for the parade that morning.

It's amazing to me how good it actually looks. I didn't picture it turning out very well in my head, but it was a huge hit at the parade! I love Tom so much and I love that he has got a creative side to him. He is so good at whatever he does.

UBIC Parade

Here we are at the UBIC Parade. The boys are in the Semi with Tom. They had a blast!!!! We have got so much feed back from our redneck float!! I said that I was done doing parades, but I was proved wrong once again!! haha.

It was Tommy's Grandpa Timothy's 89th Birthday today!! Micah got to sit on great grandpa's lap during most of the parade. The boys are so lucky to have great- grandparents to get to know and love. Tommy's grandpa lives with LoriJo, Tom's mom, and the boys get to see him quite regularly. Almost everytime we are at Grandma's Kevin has to go down to see Great Grandpa Timothy and get some candy from him.

We love Great Grandpa Timothy.

My Three Boys

Here are some recent pictures of the boys. They are such a joy!!! Micah gets plenty of attention, mostly from me, but really from all of us. Kolby and Kevin are having fun with a baby in the family. Kevin talks really sweet to Micah. Kobly is a big helper and gets me anything that I need. He sometimes even holds Micah when I need him to.

Sunday Morning Excitement

It was early Sunday morning when I was still asleep...when Tom and Brother Bryan and Dad spotted this moose right near our house! I thought that it was pretty cool, but not worth getting out of bed and waking up Micah. So I didn't see the moose, but Tom has the proof that it really was there. haha.

Our little get-a-way!

It is the middle of summer and we needed a little get-a-way. We were able to take a few days and spend some time in Las Vegas with some friends from Tennessee, who are really more like family than friends, and had a blast with them. It was a short visit, but still so good to see them! Tom's sister Alisa was able to come with us and we were so happy to have her. She was such a big help! It was so good to spend some time with her and the boys just really got to know her a little more. They love her so much.

We got to go and see Hoover Dam... that was pretty neat. They are building a new road to bypass driving over the dam. Tom loves to see things like that. He already watched it being built on the Discovery channel, but I know that he loved seeing it with his own eyes.

We were also able to spend a couple days in St. George. Alisa and I went shopping one day. We spent a little time in the pool and the sun, which was fun, but really hot! Tom and I were able to have a night out together (Thanks to Alisa), that doesn't happen that often. Over all we just had a good time. Every once in a while you just need to get-a-way!!!

Tom and the boys playing soccer...

Kolby is getting ready to start a little league soccer team and is so excited about it. Tom has been practicing with the boys and is going to be Kolby's soccer coach.

Baby Micah's Blessing

June 14, 2009, Micah R Winterton was given a name and a blessing. In his blessing some of the things that I can recall was that he was blessed to be healthy, a good brother and example, a good missionairy and he just told that he was such a special boy and a chosen spirit of our Heavenly Father. He has a great work to do here on this earth. We love our Micah!!

Thanks to all of our family and friends for their love and support. We enjoyed the day so much.
